So you’re ready for something new. Maybe it’s taking up daily walks, leveling up your running game, meditating before bed, or just hitting the gym with no distractions. Whatever your routine is missing—audio workouts are officially here to guide you every step of the way.

That means you can now walk, run, meditate, and take screen-free strength classes directly on your app. All you have to do is pop on your headphones, push play, and get right in the zone. It’s an easy way to obé anywhere: at home, in the park, on the trail, in your hotel, or on vacation.

“The best part is there’s always a little story you can follow along,” says Training and Programming Manager Melody D. “You can find fun themes, gamified classes like trivia runs, podcast banter—the ‘90s pop culture power walk is a must—or even a workout with some dating advice. We always spice it up.”

Ready to listen? Make sure to download or update your obé app, then browse all the new workouts using the audio class filter (pro tip: the Audio Workouts Collection is also a great place to start!). For a 101 on every class type and what to expect, read below.

Audio Workouts: Walk

Hot girl walks are having a moment—and for good reason. “Walking is really one of the best forms of exercise you can do for your body,” explains Melody. To name just a few perks: It develops your cardiovascular capacity, strengthens your body (especially those beautiful legs), protects your joints, improves your heart strength, lowers blood pressure, and boosts mood.

With obé Audio, you’ll have three options to choose from, depending on your style and goals:

  • Tempo walk: This is your steady-state cardio, aka walking at the same pace for a fixed period of time. Go for tempo when you want to build endurance.
  • Intervals walk: If you’re ready to push your speed (and build cardio capacity), this is it. Interval walks are good for getting really sweaty plus feeling breathless and accomplished.
  • Hill walk: Perfect for anyone who loves the treadmill! These walks teach you to work with more incline and resistance, which will train power and strength in your legs.

Audio Workouts: Run

We all know running is a great form of exercise, but finding the motivation to get started—or the right guidance to train smart—isn’t always easy. Cue obé runs! These classes help you feel focused and confident whether you’re running for the first time, training for a specific race, or reaching new milestones.

Outside or inside, here’s how you can run with obé:

  • Tempo run: Similar to tempo walks, tempo runs build up your ability to run faster—for longer periods of time. You’ll work with a maintained pace and level up your endurance.
  • Intervals run: Work hard, recover hard. Interval runs will guide you through “working” sessions and active recovery to help you build strength and get more efficient. And if you’re ready for a mega challenge, go for a HIIT run.
  • Hills run: Three words—push that incline. These runs will have you leveraging your treadmill to test your power and build up major strength in the legs.

Need to warm up or cool down? You can also listen and follow along with guided stretches, yoga recovery sequences, or activations—pre- and post-workout!

Strength Workouts

Expect the same format you’d find in any obé Strength class, but without the visual cues. These are perfect for when you’re looking to get super focused, with the feeling of a personal trainer in your ear. You may need weights, a bench, or a mat, but the equipment will always be simple, so you can train at home or in any gym.

“It’s very clean, classical functional strength training—expect moves like squats, push-ups, rows, and lunges—with really detailed verbal cues so you can follow along safely and effectively,” explains Melody. “And if you’re new to strength training, don’t be afraid to give these a try. We repeat the cues a few times so you know exactly what you’re doing.”

Meditation Options

Tune in or tune up anytime! Audio meditations are easy to follow wherever you are, so you can clear your head, improve your focus, or melt away stress. Bite-sized and super accessible, they’re great to listen to at home to set the tone for your day, while you’re traveling, and whenever you need a quick mental reset.

“What I love most is it’s just you and your instructor,” says Melody. “It feels like quality time with a friend who’s right there with you.”
