Obé-ing since: June 13, 2020. Through my AMEX credit card, I received 2 free months to obé. I had nothing to lose, and decided to give it a shot. I haven’t looked back since.

What do you enjoy most about obé?

In 2019, I worked out for 365 days in a row, mainly 17-minute HIIT workouts. However, those got routine, my workouts plateaued, and I wasn’t seeing much improvement. When I tried obé, I found the workouts to be a breath of fresh air. Each trainer brings their own strengths and fresh approach, which I really enjoyed.

Initially I started out doing on-demand workouts, but when I joined the obé fam Facebook group, I realized that folks enjoyed the live workouts with shoutouts. I tried working out live, and it was a great experience hearing my name from them. Now I do a mix of live and on-demand classes.

How has your life changed since obé?

It’s going to be a year since I started working out with obé, and I feel the difference. I work out almost 7 days a week, mainly focusing on HIIT and Strength, but also Sculpt and Dance Cardio once a week. My energy levels have gone up, and I’ve never felt fitter and stronger in my life. I look forward to my workouts every week, and the best part is that after seeing the improvement in my mind and body, my wife has started working out too. I’ve also made great workout friends through obé, especially Kristen Mckay and Aly Vanderwalde who motivate and encourage me to be the best I can be.

How has obé impacted your parenting?

I’m a dad of two girls (ages 12 and 7), and obé has been a really positive influence on them. It makes them want to be more physically active, be fit in general, and make their health a priority. They join me in my workouts sometimes, which makes the whole routine more fun.

Plus, I’ve felt that since I’ve gotten stronger, I can match my kids’ energy when we go to a park, play tag, and other activities. This has strengthened my bond with them and I feel more connected with them as a dad as they are growing up.

Favorite class types: HIIT, Strength, and Power

Favorite instructors:
Dorian C.: I admire her energy, passion, and the effort she puts into her workouts, especially HIIT. Her HIIT workouts are extremely challenging but rewarding at the same time. I’ve benefited immensely by consistently following her workouts.

Melody D.: The amount of energy—and the difficulty level—of her workouts are insane. Her HIIT classes are crazy bananas, and when I started working out with obé, I could barely make it through 11 minutes of the class. Over time, I’ve gotten stronger and better, and can handle her classes now.

Mary W.: Her vivacity during HIIT is incomparable. Her classes are equally challenging like Dorian and Melody but are extremely rewarding in helping me attain the best form of my life.

What’s the best part of obé for you?
Live classes are the best thing about obé. I look forward to doing 6-8 live classes every week. Taking a live class allows me to set a weekly workout routine which I follow consistently, and have given me great results. I’m close to 400 classes in less than a year, which I personally am very proud of.
